Favorite Person

Having a favorite person is the best feeling in the world. They teach you lessons that you didn’t know you needed to learn.

They are the one that you want to share everything with.
They are the one that when you see them, the stress and problems of the day seem to melt away.
They are the one that when you are with them, the world seems to be made up of just the two of you.
They are the person that you want to spend all of your time with.
They are they person you want to text first thing in the morning and be the last one you talk to at night.
They are the person that when you hug them, the world seems a little brighter.
They are the person that will hold your hand…for comfort, for love, for support.

They are the person that you think of most.
They are the person that, when you look at them, you wonder how they came to exist in your life because every moment is special.
They are the one that you want to know every little thing about.
They are the one that you pay attention to what makes them happy, because you want to be the one to make them smile.
They are the one that you will share your dessert with.
They are the person that makes you want to do better, be better.

But life and people are messy. Even once you find your favorite person, they might not stay that way…for whatever reason. And so despite being your favorite person, you don’t always get to keep them in your life.

They become the one that you miss the most.
They are the one that makes you feel lost when they are no longer around.
They become the one that you no longer share things with.
They are the one that leaves a mark that changes you forever.

So if you are lucky enough, hold on to your favorite person.
